AKU FASTALPINA GTX.
In case your summer so far has done a number on your early season hiking shoes, or perhaps even finished off last season’s kicks, we’re reviewing a shoe that’s built for serious hiking but transitions to brisk fitness walks on dirt paths and light hikes well, too.
This low cut light hiker is part suede, part mesh for durability and breathability. Built for walking on varied surfaces, the Fastalpina allows the foot to roll naturally from trail to rocky overlook to parking lot with ease. A triple-density mid sole system adds stability without compromising the shoe’s flex or comfort, which becomes really crucial on a long walk or even a short one on rugged terrain.
Okay, so they’re a bit bulky looking. But they’re also a bit very comfortable. And highly protective. Plus, this shoe’s tread grips on soft, moist ground and rocky trails alike. $179.99; aku.it
I’m actually in the market for new trail runners / light hikers – and I’m all about comfort, but that is a seriously steep price AND those things would look absolutely filthy after one mile of dusty SoCal trail!
love the grey color shown on the company’s site however how do you order them??
