No, not really. Every few months, a temperature inversion causes this strange phenomenon with the clouds in the Grand Canyon. Cold air fills the canyons, and the warm air above traps the fog in place. It looks like an ethereal white ocean has filled the mile-deep canyon, but only for a brief period of time.
